Confabulation is a celebration of true-life stories, shared by the people that lived them. Curated from our live shows across Canada, in Montreal, Toronto and Victoria, the podcast brings some of our favourite stories to a wider audience — as well as a larger thematic exploration of the ideas these stories bring up. It’s hard to say exactly where any one episode will take us, but each will be crafted around the story, the storyteller, and the essence of why we tell tales in the first place.

Confabulation. Stories, true as we can tell them.

#2 • Katherine Hanz (Season 1)

February 17, 2013

In this episode, Matt talks with Katherine Hanz — academic librarian at McGill University. They revisit the story Kat told two years ago at Confabulation presents: Family. Kat’s story weaves together her family history with her own, and the interview explores this delicate interplay, the challenge of authenticity when sharing a story, and some other surprising topics. Or at least one really unexpected one. Music from Bent by Elephants and Gabrielle Papillion; two artists you need to check out.
