Episode 60 of the Bloody Underrated podcast is here. It features 27 songs spanning a multitude of genres. These songs all mean a lot to me, for different reasons. I hope you enjoy listening to them.
And so it is, and so it shall be. The end has come for this silly little podcast of mine. I started recording this thing back in 2010, a few months after the website launch, just to try to get more people to listen to the bands I like. I wanted to make mixtapes for the world, and this is how I chose to do it. 524 bands and 641 songs later, here we are. 60 episodes in the can, and hopefully a few people reached. If I even turned one person onto one new band, then it was worth all the time that went into these things. Did you know that if you play all the BU podcasts back-to-back, they go for 53 hours? I’d call that one hell of a mixtape.
Thanks to Steve Diabo, Turkey, Matt Xhignesse, Claudia Ostiguy-van Der Sluis, Emily Robinson-Beamish and my parents, who all lived with me at some point in the last 3 years and had to listen to this as it happened. I’d also like to thank all the guests who have come in for an episode. Here they are, by order of appearance:
Victoria Laberge (2) (3) (4)
Paul Aflalo (2)
Risa Dickens (2)
Sarah Jane Scouten (2)
And finally, thanks to all of you who gave this thing a listen. I love you all.
Have a good one,
